Forest Mushroom Slice
(Vegan and Dairy free)

Our Forest Mushroom Slice consists of flaky layers of puff pastry topped with earthy forest mushrooms slathered in a creamy bechamel sauce with a hint of nutmeg.

The slices can be eaten hot or at room temperature making them a change from a sandwich for lunch or a pie for dinner.

We like to eat ours with seasonal greens and a side of french fries – naughty!

Care and Serving Instructions

After purchase, store in the fridge and use within 3 days.

If served warm, heat in a medium oven 180°C/375°F or Gas mark 4 for approx 10 mins. Can also be eaten at room temperature.

Suitable for freezing, allow the item to thaw before following heating instructions above.

Allergens: wheat, soya milk.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms differ from other vegetables in that they do not contain chlorophyll and convert sunlight into food. They are fungi which scavenge upon other organic matter.

This is why they are considered to be so effective at detoxifying. In nature, mushrooms draw upon that which is decaying, in the human body they are absorbing and eliminating toxins. These toxins include undesirable fat in the blood, pathogens and excess mucus in the respiratory system.

They are a rich source of glutamic acid (the natural version of the flavour enchancer monosodium glutamate) so they have a wonderful savoury flavour.

They are high in protein and a good source of vitamin B2 and Zinc.

Soya Milk

Nutritionally, soya milk contains the same amount of protein as cow's milk however, it has approximately one third of the fat, fewer calories, no cholesterol, many essential B Vitamins and fifteen times as much iron.

Nutmeg

Warming nutmeg is considered to be an aid to digestion. It can help relieve coughs, reduce pain and even relieve flatulence acting as a carminative!
